Well, this is the second time Granny Jo has visited with us, and we have certainly hit the ground running.  She flew with Christina back from Savannah where she was visiting with Grandma Yvonne. Christina had been downt there for three weeks and we were going through kid-withdrawals! It took them 24 hours in total to finally reach here, after spending almost a day in the Atlanta Airport. You've just gotta love the airlines these days.

 

But when they got here, we gave them no time to recover. Well, I did let mom get her coffee cup filled (a great big one) and then she was ready to go. The first weekend we went back to Port Townsend and Fort Worden, which Granny had never been to. The weather was superb, if not a little cold for the Floridians among us. The Fort is always a lot of fun, and Port Townsend is just one of my favorite town with all it's Victorian architecture. When you're there it's hard to belive you're just across the bay from Seattle and Canada.

 

The girls went downtown this week to the Seattle Art Museum, once again after a quick stop for homemade donuts and coffee (noticing a pattern here?).

 

We just got back from a full day at Mount Saint Helens, which you just can't adequately describe. Even pictures don't do it justice - you have to be there to experience it. The power that it still shows after 27 years is truly awe-inspiring.

 

Granny Jo leaves on Monday, tired, but with a lot of memories. We already miss her!
